Thank you for adding me to your list. I have been forwarding
all of the emails to the American Mental Health Alliance
local listserv, which is an interdisciplinary group of therapists.
I have had a number of LPCs and LMFTs thank me for keeping
them informed. I deeply appreciate your work on behalf of
all of us.

This

This
is America (the last time I checked) not Iraq. Choices IS
what makes America strong! Clients need to have choices and
this will add to the healing process. We need to be allowed
to stand shoulder to shoulder with LCSWs, LMFTs, and LPCs
to support the journey of clients.

For
the first time in years, I'm feeling excited about the profession
I have chosen.

I
have felt so insulted by not getting equal pay for equal work
and for having to fight for respect, etc., etc....You're doing
the right thing for our field and for the community.

I
wanted to let you know is that there is another group of professionals
who supports this movement as well. We are Licensed School
Counselors. We are required to have a Master's in Counseling,
do many hours of practicum and internships, take a Praxis
exam and once we get our license through Teacher Standards
and Practices Commission (TSPC) we are required to have continuing
education. We are interested in this work, not only because
many professionals move between the careers of working at
schools, agencies and in private practice, but also because
we know many of our colleagues (LMFT & LPC) could be viable
options for our families, if insurance would pay.
